Create a traditional bedroom

Write about something you know. If you don’t know much about a specific topic that will interest your readers, invite an expert to write about it.

A traditional bedroom is one that feels like a treat to retire to every night. We’re talking five-star hotel style with classic furniture, luxurious textures, colours that are relaxing and beautiful, and all the storage required to keep it calm and uncluttered (scattered shoes and bulging wardrobes would ruin the ambience, after all).

Living in an older home definitely isn’t a must to embrace this classic look. You can create it whether your home has period style, or is a newer build. Take a look at the ingredients for an elegant haven, and discover all our traditional bedroom designs.

A HEADBOARD THAT MAKES THE BED THE STAR

The bed’s the leading actor of the bedroom show and you can make it even more of a centrepiece with a headboard. It’s a comfort booster, too. Lean against an upholstered headboard and you’ll feel supported and relaxed. Our headboards come in a range of classic and contemporary shapes; there’s a choice of details like buttons, borders and studs; and you can select any of our fabrics as upholstery, or send us your own fabric to use.

Autumn is a beautiful time of the year, the season of crunchy leaves, thick jumpers and cosy blankets. But, as the temperature drops and the clocks go back, you might find yourself looking for warm bedroom room ideas. Bethan John from The British Blanket Company explains how to create a cosy bedroom that can be your cocoon for the colder months ahead. Choose a warm colour palette Warm colours contain pigments of red, yellow or orange. If you paint your walls with a warm colour palette, this has the effect of drawing in the space, making it feel more intimate, welcoming and inviting. If this is the mood you would like to create, you should select warmer colours as the starting point for your scheme.

Making your home feel spacious is easier than you think, and the size of your room isn’t a restriction. With careful organisation and a focus on colour and lighting you could transform a space into one that you and your guests fall in love with. Here are our three favourite tips to embrace your space: Get organised Have a home for everything. Keeping clutter to a minimum will maximise space however big or small the room is. Investing in some stylish multifunctional storage which is both practical and looks great, will help you give a home to every item you pick up – making the dreaded chore of tidying that little bit easier!

It’s more important than ever to be comfortable and happy in your home. Surround yourself with a clean, organised space, instead of a cluttered environment, and focus on creating a space that is comfortable for everyone. Being organised is key, especially when we’re spending the majority of our time indoors, and in many cases, sharing our homes with our families. Decluttering and making space makes for a more comfortable home, and gives a much-needed energy boost for everyone. Continuing our series of tips, today’s blog focuses on the kitchen and dining room, and we hope it will help you create an organised and relaxing space.
